Minimum Seed Count: 10

A unique heart-shaped variety of bitter melon, the large softball-sized fruit is particularly popular in Surinamese cuisine. Bitter melon was originally introduced to Suriname by South Chinese immigrants in the 1850s, where the unique and highly nutritious vegetable seamlessly integrated into the eclectic cuisine of this South American country.

An early producer, long rambling vines produce tons of smooth skinned, dark green, bumpy fruit in as few as 65 days. Thanks to a thick skin, this variety is considered an excellent shipper and a perfect choice for gardeners wanting to grow bitter melon for the first time.
